Criticism was directed at a borough council for turning down an offer from a supermarket to pay for new public toilets when it built a new branch at Reading in 2010.

Savings will be made by changes to public toilet opening times, it is claimed by a council. The new closure periods affect three Mid Wales towns, while the toilets will no longer be manned.
