A 33-year-old from Fleetwood has been slapped with a rather hefty fine, for stealing a bollard from the entrance to Richmond Road in Blackpool.
Anthony Alcock used a sledgehammer to remove the bollard from its original position, then loading it in his flatbed truck and driving off, a news report informs.
The bollard, worth £280, was recovered by the police, while the perpetrator was ordered to pay £170 in fines and costs (related mostly to putting the bollard back in its place and fixing the damaged pavement).
