Bollards will be installed at Hemel Hempstead’s Box Lane car park for Sheethanger Common, in order to prevent lorries from clogging it up, a news report in the local media has recently revealed.
The Box Moor Trust will be in charge of carrying out the respective works, whose completion will free up spaces for people visiting the common and former golf course, which is well known for its chalk downland plants and associated wildlife.
Councillor Richard Roberts, who gave £600 from his locality budget towards the works, said: “Large commercial vehicles were causing a nuisance by staying overnight and with a little budget and the goodwill and work of the Box Moor Trust, the problem is now resolved. The Trust is a big part of Dacorum and it is a pleasure to support them and local residents.”
The Static Bollards supplied by Carpark Barriers Gates & Turnstiles are equally suitable for both ground or surface mount, are highly flexible in most situations and are available in both cast iron and wood versions, which means that customer will be able to choose either strength or cosmetic appearance, depending on the specific circumstances within which the bollard is set to be mounted.
From simple light weight timber bollards for demarcation purposes, separating pedestrians from traffic or for protecting vulnerable points like corners of buildings that could be accidentally hit by vehicles, static bollards are highly versatile and provide a genuine deterrent.
