A local authority is actively searching for a solution to prevent travellers from illegally moving onto its open spaces following an incident that saw armed police being called in, a recent news report in the local media was able to reveal.
Castle Point Council is now looking for the best way to protect the borough’s open spaces after about 17 caravans moved on to a field next to a local car park at the end of August.
The travellers were involved in violent incidents and armed officers were even called to the field at one point after reports a man had been seen with a gun. Furthermore, traders were also forced to shut on the last days of the summer season.
While the council is considering passing new bylaws for the quick and effective removal of travellers from anywhere within the borough, seafront traders believe that better barriers are needed to stop travellers moving on to local parks.
In fact, they’re so keen on the idea that they have even offered to pay for 6ft barriers and steel bollards to keep caravans out.
Access restriction solutions supplied by Carpark Barriers Gates & Turnstiles are equally suitable for both ground or surface mount, are highly flexible in most situations and are available in both cast iron and wood versions, which means that customer will be able to choose either strength or cosmetic appearance, depending on the specific circumstances within which the bollard is set to be mounted.
From simple light weight timber bollards for demarcation purposes, separating pedestrians from traffic or for protecting vulnerable points like corners of buildings that could be accidentally hit by vehicles, static bollards are highly versatile and provide a genuine deterrent.
The reliable and affordable Static Bollards from Carpark Barriers Gates & Turnstiles are available in any RAL colour as a special order at low prices, and if you’d like to find out more about them (or have any other query on this topic), then our dedicated product team can answer any question you might have.
