Residents of Clifton Village in Nottinghamshire are asking for barriers to be put up around the village green in order to prevent travellers from moving on to the space, a recent news report in the local media has been able to find.
The residents have been seriously affected by a number of caravans pitching up on the green at least once during the summer for the past five years. Previously, the idea of barriers had been suggested, and the chairman of the residents association in the area said they have been battling with Nottingham City Council to get some built.
Kevin McCormick, chairman of Clifton Village Residents’ Association, said: “All the residents are fed up with it, and this time all the caravans are quite close to the village.
“We’ve been in discussion with the council about having barriers put up for about five or six years now.”
