Two new parking areas comprising 261 off-street parking places have just been open in Felixstowe, in a bid to reduce the on-street congestion at the seafront in the Suffolk resort, a news report in the local media has recently released.
The area suffers severe congestion at weekends when visitors flock to the resort, and for this reason, the need for additional parking has become a lot more dire over the past few years.
The brand-new pay-and-display facilities are part of the community benefits from the £25million Martello Park housing development on Felixstowe’s 17-acre south seafront site, with developers Bloor Homes paying for the construction of the areas. However, the car parks will be owned and run by Suffolk Coastal, with all funds going towards keeping local taxes down.
